Video duration: 211 seconds At the moment the plane lifts off, the pilot loses his ability to judge height above the water and has to maintain wings-level and a positive climb rate to avoid flying back into the water. The original owner of my plane wrecked it when he turned too soon after take-off and put a wing in the water. At high altitudes, sometimes the plane is rocked to help break it over onto the step.
